What Are BeamReaders Service Add-Ons and How Do They Work?
What’s included in every BeamReaders report
Every BeamReaders Radiology Report includes a full volume review for pathosis written to the clinical purpose and accompanied by key images that tell the story with up to two measurement sites included.
What are service add-ons?
In addition to the standard radiology report, you can choose to include additional options on a per-report (a la carte) basis. These services carry a nominal additional fee to account for the added time invested by our Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologists beyond the standard radiology report.
Add-ons may be selected at the time of case submission and applied only to that report. They are not automatically added to future submissions.
Available add-ons
Here’s what each add-on does and when to use it.
1. Rush
Need your report fast? Selecting Rush ensures your report is returned by the end of the next business day. +$30 per report
When to use: Use this for urgent clinical situations where timely results affect same-day or next-day treatment decisions.
2. Compare Scans Over Time (With a Prior BeamReaders Report)
Already have a BeamReaders report on file for this patient? Our radiologists will compare the new scan to the prior scan, and issue a second report identifying any interval changes. +$35 per report
When to use: Use this when a patient has an existing BeamReaders report and you want to track disease progression, evaluate treatment response, or document change over time.
3. Compare Scans Over Time (No Prior BeamReaders Report)
Have two scans for the same patient taken on different days, where neither of which has been read by BeamReaders? We'll review both scans, compare them, and report on the interval changes, all in one report. +$60 per report
When to use: Use this when you have a current scan and a prior scan, neither of which has a BeamReaders report, and you want to evaluate change over time. Common scenarios include monitoring a pathologic condition, assessing orthodontic treatment progression, or tracking post-surgical healing.
4. MRI Scan
BeamReaders has a specialized team that provides radiology reports for TMJ MRI scans. To submit an MRI for review, the complete contents of the CD from the imaging center, including the viewer software, will be required. (See more info about MRI submissions) +$40 per report
If you are requesting a CBCT report and an MRI interpretation, these should be submitted separately.
When to use: Use this when your patient has undergone MRI imaging for TMJ evaluation and you need a formal radiological interpretation.
5. Compare Two TMJ Scans for Occlusal/Appliance Position (Same Time Point)
Have multiple scans of the same patient captured in different bite positions or with an appliance in and out? Our radiologists will review and compare the positional differences within a single report. +$35 per report
When to use: Use this when evaluating a patient with a TMJ appliance or splint, or when positional variation is clinically relevant to the diagnosis, such as comparing open vs. closed, or with and without an orthotic.
6. Image Portfolio (with CBCT Radiology Report).
An Image Portfolio translates your patient's 3D volume into clear, organized image sets that visually communicate clinical findings and treatment goals. Prepared by our imaging technicians, portfolios are accurately oriented with true-size scaling and can include cephalometric tracings, anatomical measurements, and output in DAZ format for Dolphin timelines as necessary. +$60 per report
You can also separately order Imaging Portfolios for patients without a radiology report by creating a patient profile, going to the imaging tab, and following the Image Portfolio submission form. The image portfolio without a radiology report is $60.
When to use: Use this when you need a visual complement to the written radiology report to support patient communication or treatment planning, especially in orthodontic, TMD, and endodontic scenarios.

Reminder for clinical notes and add-ons
If your clinical notes request services that correspond to one of the above add-ons or are above the scope of a standard radiology report (for example, asking us to evaluate against a prior scan, but the appropriate add-on was not selected at the time of submission), we reserve the right to notify you and apply the relevant charge. This ensures our radiologists are fairly compensated for the additional time required.
To avoid unexpected charges, we recommend reviewing your add-on selections before submitting, particularly when your clinical notes reference a comparison, multiple time points, or TMJ positional analysis.
The total per report will always be reflected on the case order screen.
